Platform Studios presents drawings and prints by Laura Scull. Laura’s work explores markmaking and the process of creating a drawing or print. She responds to the available materials and inspiration, letting the creative process guide the work.
Featured in the exhibition are a collection of chalk & charcoal drawings on water based printing ink, based on house plants that were ending up in landfill but that Laura rescued and revived them, with them regrowing new leaves
within a week. The printmaking background uses left over ink from the printing plate that is reactivated and a still life drawing is created by drawing only dark and light areas of the plant.
